Dr. Salim Zafar Asaad is a highly accomplished Vitreo-Retinal surgeon and Cataract surgeon with more than 23 years of clinical experience in Ophthalmology. He has a medical education background from India where he has perfected his base of knowledge and skillset in ophthalmology, owning to the diversity and volume of cases he dealt with. After obtaining his master’s degree in Ophthalmology, Dr. Salim underwent fellowship in Diseases of Retina & the Vitreous from Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai. He also trained in Retinopathy of Prematurity from L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad.

Through his remarkable career, Dr. Salim has had clinical experience at multiple facilities and has also headed the department of ophthalmology for some of them. His years of practice in India were at some of the most premiere ophthalmological centers and household names in healthcare. He has collected extensive experience ophthalmology and is well-versed with the rarest of complications and illnesses present.

Dr. Salim has authored number of publications in peer reviewed journals and is a reviewer for the European Journal of Ophthalmology. He has also widely presented at conferences of all levels and is a member of several international scientific societies.

Dr. Salim’s areas of expertise are Retinal disorders such as Diabetic Retinopathy, Vitreo-Macular interface diseases, Retinal Detachment, Age Related Macular Degeneration and more. He is proficient in all kinds of advanced Vitreo-Retinal surgeries and is also skilled in phacoemulsification with the intraocular lens. He also offers management for cataract, cornea problems, glaucoma, strabismus, optometric corrections and advice for glasses or lenses and trauma caused from injury.
