Dr. Mamdouh Mohamed

Dr. Mamdouh Mohamed is a highly skilled and experienced anesthesiologist with over 30 years of hands-on clinical experience. Having completed his MBBCh from Zagazig University in Egypt in 1986, he laid the foundation for his medical career. He then further honed his skills and knowledge by obtaining a Masters in Anesthesia and ICU Management from the same university in 1991. To enhance his qualifications, he pursued an MD in Anesthesia from Minia University, Menia, Egypt, in 1998. Dr. Mamdouh also undertook a Diploma Training Program in Regional Anesthesia from Montpellier University, France, in 2017. This international training has likely exposed him to different approaches and methodologies, enriching his skill set and broadening his perspective on patient care.

Dr. Mamdouh’s illustrious career in Anesthetics is not only marked by his exceptional academic achievements but also by his experience at prestigious hospitals and medical institutes in both Egypt and the UAE. Starting as an assistant lecturer, Dr. Mamdouh steadily climbed the ranks to become a well-respected lecturer and eventually an assistant professor at the esteemed Department of Anesthesia in Minia University Hospitals in Egypt. His reputation as a knowledgeable practitioner has led him to be appointed as a member and the Chief Examiner on the evaluation panel of the Ministry of Health (MOH) in the UAE. Furthermore, as a member of the Committee for Investigations of Medical Faults in MOH, Dr. Mamdouh oversees issues related to morbidity and mortality, demonstrating his dedication to maintaining the highest level of patient care and safety. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 crisis, Dr. Mamdouh’s expertise was put to the test as he assumed the role of the head of anesthesia and ICU at a multi-specialty hospital in the UAE, successfully managing 15 ICU beds and a large patient load.

Dr. Mamdouh is skilled in administering anesthesia for a diverse range of conditions, procedures and scenarios. His expertise stems from experience in laparoscopic procedures, bariatric surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, obstetrics and gynecology, ENT surgeries, thoracic surgeries, plastic surgery and many pediatric and neonatal procedures. He is efficient in the use of spinal and epidural regional anesthesia as well as managing emergency and ICU cases that require intensive pain management. Special cases such as open-heart surgery, pediatric eye surgery and tracheotomies are examples of cases that Dr. Mamdouh can manage confidently. Additionally, he is skilled in performing peripheral nerve blocks using nerve stimulators as well as ultrasound guided nerve blocks.

Having authored 9 publications in anesthesia and related disciplines is a testament to Dr. Mamdouh’s significant contributions to the field.
